Overview: 

GitLab is an open-source software platform where members of the Penn State Community can share and collaborate on code. The service is intended for faculty and staff as an administrative service. It is not intended for coursework, nor for use by students.Additionally, GitLab users can:

  • Manage git repositories with fine-grained access controls that keep code secure
  • Perform code reviews and enhance collaboration with merge requests
  • Each project can also have an issue tracker and a wiki

Eligibility: 

  • This service is available to select faculty or staff members at Penn State
    • In cases where a graduate student is working with a faculty or staff member on a project, the faculty, or staff member working with the students can submit at request by e-mail to ask that their collaborators have access to the system
