Backups (Desktop) with Crashplan

CrashPlan makes backing up and restoring files from all devices, including external hard drives, fast and easy. The program utilizes a centrally located appliance for administration and authentication, cloud for data storage, and a client on the end point machine.

Backups (Server) with UBI

A remote file backup service, University Backup for Infrastructure (UBI) stores data on Penn State servers for Penn State faculty and staff. Several versions of files can be backed-up and restored in the event of component failure, accidental deletion, file corruption, or another type of damage sustained to the original file.

Box at Penn State

Box at Penn State offers secure, content-rich, and user-friendly data storage and content sharing. Box allows content to be stored online, so it can be accessed, managed, and shared from anywhere. Users can acess Box on mobile devices or seamlessly sync files to laptops or desktop computers.

Penn State Access Account Storage Space (PASS)

Universally-accessible disk space and file storage space is available for all Penn Staters, departments, and courses.

The Cloud Program provides access to cloud-based IT Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) for easy and rapid acquisition, development, and scaling of resources. Cloud computing meets users’ needs in a secure manner without the requirement to purchase and maintain physical hardware.

The Institute for CyberScience provides storage solutions through the Advanced CyberInfrastructure (ICS-ACI) system.
